To support our accelerating project pipeline, we are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our driven, collaborative team. You will be part of the Datacenter Electrification & Automation group, which delivers complex multidisciplinary projects on a global scale. The Challenge
As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you are the technical heartbeat of our global data center projects. You take full ownership of the engineering lifecycle from initial concept to final realization, ensuring every solution is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards. You will join our specialized Electrical Engineering team, a high-caliber group of 30 professionals dedicated to powering the digital infrastructure of tomorrow.
Your Responsibilities
You are the primary technical authority for your projects. Your mission involves:
- Technical Leadership: Directing and mentoring interface and system engineers to transform high-level designs into detailed engineering realities.
- System Integration: Managing a broad technical scope, including Medium and Low Voltage (MV/LV) distribution, transformers, busbar systems, and digital protection.
- Innovation & Modular Solutions: Overseeing the engineering of automation, monitoring systems, and modular infrastructure like E-Houses and Skids.
- Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Ensuring all designs are functionally aligned across disciplines while maintaining a firm grip on the project’s planning and budget frameworks.
- Client Advisory: Acting as the primary technical point of contact, providing expert advice to clients and coordinating designs to meet their rigorous demands.
The Environment
This role is defined by dynamic complexity. Given the short lead times and high customer expectations in the data center world, you will work in close, intensive collaboration with Project Managers to navigate fast-moving project cycles.
While you will primarily be based at our The Hague office, your expertise will take you where the action is. You should be prepared for regular international travel to visit factories for Acceptance Tests (FAT), attend high-level client meetings, and coordinate critical site activities.
Competenties
- Completed HTS or TU education Electrical Engineering with at least 7 years work experience as a (lead)
engineer in multidisciplinary projects;
- Practical and theoretical experience with low and medium voltage distributors,
transformers, short-circuit and selectivity calculations and standards such as IEC 61439;
- Experience in making technical reports and test plans;
- Creative, positive, able to convey ideas and enthuse people;
- Able to make, monitor and realize engineering and implementation plans;
- Experience with working in a team and managing and coaching engineers;
- Strong communication skills, politically and commercially, able to deal with critical customers;
- Flexible and willing to travel on a regular basis for short business trips;
- Stress resistant and able to act in a hectic environment;
- Speaks and writes English fluently;
- Preferably has also knowledge of the Dutch language.
