The role involves overseeing Turnaround-related sourcing, contracting, and procurement activities. Emphasis is placed on promoting competitive bidding for cost-efficiency and taking responsibility for value creation in procurement initiatives. Compliance with regional regulations and global standards, especially in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS), is a priority. The position includes managing vendor qualification, implementing supplier management strategies for high performance and secure deliveries, conducting evaluations, efficiently handling complaints and claims, occasionally providing operational support and troubleshooting, expediting procurement processes, collaborating with corporate functions, and sharing procurement knowledge with internal stakeholders.
• Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree (HBO+) in fields such as commerce, business administration, engineering, or related disciplines.
• Demonstrate tactical procurement experience and, if possible, hold qualifications in procurement, such as NEVI 1 or 2.
• Have a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience, ideally working closely with an internal customer base.
• Exhibit knowledge of manufacturing and materials, with a preference for a technical background.
• Display strong time management skills, with the ability to communicate progress effectively and escalate issues when necessary.
• Showcase proven abilities in negotiation and data analysis.
• Demonstrate an aptitude for administrative tasks and proficiency in SAP-MM, ensuring accuracy in all processes.
• Be adaptable and willing to take on additional responsibilities when required, consistently going the extra mile.
• Possess a resilient and dependable personality, capable of thriving in a technical environment alongside turnaround managers, project managers, and other stakeholders.

• Fluent in both spoken and written English and Dutch.

The Tactical Turnaround Buyer will be located in Geleen and serves as a procurement business partner. Capturing requirements, identifying opportunities, intensive co-operation with the internal customers and Procurement colleagues delivering value, in an efficient manner and fully compliant with SABIC Procurement Policy is of utmost importance.
In general, the Tactical Turnaround Buyer role characteristics are straightforward on time contracting services, secure supply of goods and services and competitive bidding according procurement business rules. Processes can be very complex, as specification are not always that clear and business pressure might urge for vigorous, but always compliant, actions. Main goal for this role is contracting best value, whilst serving the business needs and delivering a compliant procurement dossier.
