As Packaging Engineer, you will provide design and development support by developing structural packaging for consumer products sold globally. • Create structural packaging design including die-cuts (accounting for graphics), and pallet stacking. Verify detailed packaging design against requirements.

• The packaging engineer is involved in artwork development, which is done by an external partner. Understanding of packaging development, printing, manufacturing and assembly process is key.

• Secure the technical product documentation, in particular the data related to packaging dimensions and logistical data, including packaging data, pallet stacking, and packaging / unpacking instructions. Tasks would be to upload this data to the PLM system Windchill

• Execute root-cause analysis of production problems and consumer complaints.

• Drive design review with external packaging service provider / ODM

• Work on packaging development including packaging for medical and non-medical products.

We are looking for:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in packaging science or related technical discipline like Industrial Design Engineering, mechanics engineering etc.
  • 3+ years of experience in packaging development or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in structural packaging design for mass consumer products.
  • Analytical and geometric problem-solving ability is required as part of activities in providing packaging specifications on carton dimensions and weights. Accurate and consistent on content
  • Knowledge of standard packaging materials like paper/carton, plastics, paperpulp etc.
  • Experience with Artios, Cape palletizing, illustrator software and Windchill is preferred.
  • Knowledge on CAD documents, BoMs, artworks and technical product document in general, including packaging data, pallet stacking and packaging / unpacking instructions

As a packaging engineer you have the following skills:

  • Experience in collaborating with other disciplines. Applied knowledge of design methods and development processes.
