The Biophysics and Process Analytics (BPA) team is a young and dynamic group (30 team members), which is part of Analytical Development (AD), responsible for a range of activities focused on biophysical and analytical vaccine characterization. Their responsibilities include project bridging and transfer from late discovery to development, analytical support for process development, scouting exploration and implementation of novel analytical technologies.
We are looking for a suitable candidate to reinforce our team as an assistant scientist. She / He is a motivated person who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:
- Sample analysis for internal (& external) stakeholders.
- Executing analytical and (molecular-) biochemical methods.
- Working on general lab automation (Hardware and software related).
- Transfer a manual method to an automated environment (ELISA, QPCR).
- Provide smart solutions for efficiency in daily work.
- Data analysis and reporting.
- Responsible for documentation e.g. CofAs and trending reports.
- Further responsibilities include instrument maintenance & troubleshooting.
- Written reporting and oral presentations in various settings.
The candidate is expected to have an inclusive and collaborative spirit and work in line with colleagues from within the group and outside departments.
Following qualifications are important:
- Bachelor in Biochemistry, Biophysics and/or protein chemistry or related fields.
- Knowledge of e.g. QPCR, ELISA, Biological assays, UPLC, CE, DLS.
- Affinity for automation and software.
- Experience in good documentation and quality systems are preferable.
The successful candidate is flexible, has a pro-active attitude and likes teamwork and outside the box approaches.
She/He is eager to share both theoretical and experimental knowledge and keen to explore new technologies.
- Strong communication + organization skills and ability to work in a team are equally important as independent planning and execution of tasks;
- Affinity with software, robotics and automation.
Besides that, she/he is quality minded, accurate and has eye for detail.
