Over de functie

The Dutch company ASML is one of the few companies in the world that  manufactures chip-producing systems. Microchip giants like Intel, TSMC and Samsung are ASML's biggest costumers. The chips that are made by the machines of ASML end up in smartphones, computers, cars and aeroplanes. There is a chance of 85% that the chip in your smartphone is manufactured by one of ASML's EUV machines.

When it comes to innovation ASML faces the worlds toughest challenges. That is why ASML is attracting the best mechanical/ electrical/ software engineers that are always keen on expanding their knowledge.

Within ASML the sector Development & Engineering (D&E) specifies and designs ASML products. The department P&I (performance and integration) focuses on development of new prototypes (integration) and on the machine performance. The performance specialty serves as support for several competencies such as imaging, overlay, focus (of UV-light), defectivity and cleanliness).
Within this specific process team, chemical technologists and material scientists focus upon aspects of the wafer and the photoresist. They support specific competences by investigating contacting surfaces of the wafer and wafer table, verify (changing) properties due to material deposition, check the influence on overlay specifications, contact angles and roughness etc.
In addition, they research different types of photoresists, by studying the underlying chemical mechanisms, imaging specificity and focus. People define and prepare a test plan, book time on required machines, support other colleagues and participate in team meetings and project groups.
