Lightyear has developed Lightyear One - a car which charges using solar power, regular household plugs and existing heavy charging infrastructue, making electric driving possible for everyone. Lightyear One is the next step in driving: The electric car that can charge anywhere.

We are looking for  for electrical engineers to join innovative, young and dynamic team of Lightyear. Being part of a multidisciplinary engineering team you will make design choices and will be responsible for one or more electrical modules of the car. At this moment we are looking for multiple electrical engineers with different complementing competences.

Competences

We are looking for engineers with the following competences:

• Product development

• Electrical design choices for the Lightyear One

• Power electronics design

• Power electronics simulation

• Making and explaining design choices

Open responsibilities

There are multiple challenges for you to take on as an electrical engineer at Lightyear. Examples of the open responsibilities are the product development of:

• Solar panels
• Solar power electronics
• Rechargeable Energy Storage System
• Motors
• Charger
• (Advanced) Driver Assistance Systems
• Embedded electronics
• Wiring harness

Functie-eisen

Job requirements

• A BSc./Msc. in Electrical Engineering or similar
• At least one year of work experience
• Availability for 40 hours a week
• Fluent in English, Dutch proficiency is a plus
• Hands on experience and affinity to hands-on and experimental work
• Ability to think and work independently
