Over de functie
The Consumables & Processes departments are, as part of the R&D department, responsible for development of printing (imaging) processes and consumable materials (inks, toners, print heads) to be applied in innovative prints systems.
For a new print product we are looking for a Heat and flow specialist capable of designing, analyzing, and optimizing an ink supply system.
The supply system encompasses all elements from filling of ink tanks to supplying the print heads and removal of waste ink. Starting from a base system you need to innovate a 'low-cost' system for the new product. The system contains complex interactions and has mayor challenges in fluid dynamics and the thermodynamics. Together with engineers the concept needs to be integrated into a fully functional system.
The main task is to prepare an ink handling for multiple print heads, decompose the functionality, prepare a test setup and evaluate if the requirements can be met. Designing fluidic system, selecting functional components, ordering parts and evaluating performance and performing experiments.
In this job the engineer will be working in a multidisciplinary team of 10 people. Expertise areas of the team members are in the field of (chemical) process technology, mechanical engineering, electronic engineering and mechatronics.
Who are we looking for?
- Candidate has a MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or Physics. (preferably no BSc or Phd level)
- Experience and/or affinity with Fluid Dynamics in a research, experimental environment.
- To be successful the candidate is a problem solver, result driven, and an analytical thinker.
- Knowledge of and experience with modelling and simulation software like matlab.
- Candidate has profound knowledge English language.
