Main purpose of the job

  • Manage availability of products to ensure high customer service and visibility on expected risks.
  • Operationally manage & control commercial inventory, according to agreed stock and service level targets agreed in the S&OP Handshake.
  • Set inventory control parameters for all distribution centers, by executing the agreed Finished Goods Strategy on product/location level.
  • Identifying slow moving stock and defining and initiating actions to remove and prevent recreation of slow moving stock.
  • Ensuring that operational KPI’s in team are met, initiation of improvement plans when required
Explanation of the department/organisation
The department is managing and controlling the Make to Stock products and the related goods flows in the commercial warehouses of a Market Group Europe. The scope is BG Home. Planners are organized along the product axis and report directly to the Finished Goods (& demand) Planning Manager.

Job specific information
The Finished Goods Planner is responsible to manage and control commercial inventory on product/location level. Daily communication with factories, external suppliers and commercial organizations is required. Effective alignment with the BG S&OP planner is required in case demand is exceeding the agreed plan and flexibility levels. The KPI’s the planner has to manage are Customer Service and Inventory levels. The planner needs to execute a root cause analysis on Customer Service and Inventory Issues as input for a continous improvement cycle. The planner is repsonsible to check the availability situation on product/location level on a daily base and define and execute corrective actions if needed together with the contacts in the factories, markets and BG’s.

Key contacts are:
  • Upstream supply chain contacts in portfolio
  • Countries/Markets in portfolio
  • Signaling deviations between real sales versus sales plans (QxP) during the month to define corrective actions either in the market or in supply.
  • Check daily stock & availability (on 12NC level).
  • Manage / convert purchase requisitions (and other requirements) in SAP
  • Contact factories (external/internal/Supply Planning Team) for PO process related issues (in scope of FG Planner)
  • Expedite PO’s, Shipments as required
  • Provide feedback on Short Lead-time Requests (within agreed Flex)
  • Review and manage MRP Signals/Exceptions.
  • Maintain and Review Inventory levels (Safety Stock, ROP, Min/Max levels, etc).
  • Review over/under stock (12NC) and defines actions. Execute FGS on 12 NC level
  • Execute interDC flow (monitor flow, if automated)
  • Placing Purchase Orders at internal factories and follow up (date/quantity changes)


Knowledge & Experience Requirements

  • Knowledge of Supply Chain, Planning and Systems.
  • Experience in SC Operations
  • Communicator to Business and Markets.
