9018284 | STAPHORST | Vast | HBO | 40 uur | publicatiedatum

Over de functie

The department: The Research & Innovation department of BU Towing is responsible for:

  • System development: All new functionalities (a.o. detachability, electric deploy ability) of towing systems are being developed within the R&I department. These developments run within the R&I department from concept generation up till start of production;
  • Basic research: On certain topics (a.o. FEA, data acquisition, materials) the R&I department performs basic, non-project related, research. This research requires and builds on good theoretical knowledge of these topics;
  • System aftercare: Of all (formerly) developed systems, the R&I department stays technical responsible. Complaints from the market are discussed and analyzed together with other departments in order to build our knowledge even further.
Next to the R&I department, two departments develop car specific towbars, containing the developed systems and research knowledge, both for the Original Equipment (OE) market as for the After Market (AM). Some of the tools used are: Pro/Engineer, Pro/Mechanica, a fully equipped workshop for prototyping, state-of-the-art measuring and test equipment. Most of the development and release testing is performed in house to get direct feedback on results. Also the production of the developed systems is done in house, resulting in very short lines between production and engineering.
